River Ridge High School is excited to announce tryouts for the 2026–2027 sideline cheerleading team. We are looking for passionate and dedicated student-athletes who are ready to bring spirit, skill, and energy to our program. This is a great opportunity to get involved, represent your school, and be part of a supportive and spirited team.
Tryouts will be held on May 14th from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM in the RRHS Gymnasium. Tryouts are open to all incoming 9th through 12th grade students.
Tryout materials will be posted on May 8th on the RRHS school website and on the River Ridge Cheer Instagram page (@river_ridge_cheer). All participants are expected to learn the provided cheer and dance prior to tryouts. Athletes will also be required to perform a toe touch jump. Tumbling is optional.
All students planning to try out must meet the following requirements:
- Be cleared through Athletic Clearance
- Incoming 9th grade students and new RRHS athletes must complete an EKG
- Submit completed cheer tryout paperwork (available online and in the front office)
- Demonstrate knowledge of the tryout material
- Maintain a positive attitude, school spirit, and enthusiasm
