In order to protect the health and safety of employees, staff, and students, all those who access Pasco County School locations must self-screen for symptoms and other risk factors of COVID-19 daily. If you answer YES to any of the questions, you should NOT be on campus. Access the Visitor Screener or the Student Screener online. Employees should use the Employee Self-Screener.

Hopefully you had a chance to view the scholarship and awards night video (if not, see below). For those who did receive an award there is some information below about how to receive/follow up:

Congratulations, you received a scholarship!  Now what?  How do I get my money?  Please read the instructions below carefully, and begin any paperwork you need to fill out now so you get the money as quickly as possible.

Some of you may have received scholarships on your own, which I was unaware of and therefore unable to celebrate and announce. The PHSC Top 10% scholarship is one which I put out a number of requests to find the students who are accepting this scholarship, but only got a response from one student. If you were made this offer by PHSC, please be sure to fill out the paperwork-it is NOT automatic. You will have to contact PHSC if you have not already done so, to accept the scholarship.

Pasco Education Foundation/Take Stock in Children- You should have already received the detailed information from them, as to what you need to do to receive the money.  If you have any questions, please contact the foundation.

WREC-You should have received all the information and paperwork requirements from WREC already.  Be sure you read the instructions carefully!

Local scholarships- Most of the local scholarships (Rotary, JSL, Gulf Harbors) who have already contacted you to tell you that you got a scholarship should have given you information as to how to get the scholarship funds or a contact number for you to call and get the information.  If they did NOT, please email me and I’ll see what they need you to do.

Finally, RRHS organization scholarships-We have many of these scholarships this year. These checks will be issued by our bookkeeper and you will need to FIRST show me the following before they can be issued: Proof of REGISTRATION for classes.  Just an acceptance is NOT good enough.  You can send me a class schedule, an orientation registration, receipts for any deposits you already paid, anything that has your student number on it and shows that you have moved forward with your intention to attend that school. I will turn them in to the bookkeeper and a check will be issued to you, which you can hopefully pick up next week at checkout.

For the private memorial scholarships, I have been contacted by the sponsors, and they will send the checks directly to you, if I have your permission to give them your contact information.  Otherwise they will send them to me at school, which may delay your receipt of them. Please let me know, if you are a recipient of one of these, how you would like to receive the check.

Lastly, it is very important that you write a sincere Thank You to your scholarship donor or organization.

Once again, congratulations!  Hope to see all of you next week.

Mrs. Peterson
