Description: Applicants must have completed a minimum of 50 hours of volunteer work over the past 2 years; must have maintained a minimum 3.5 GPA over the past 2 years; must be under 21 years old; and must submit an essay on a given topic.

Elks Most Valuable Student Scholarship

Amount: $4,000 – $50,000

Description: Qualified applicants must be graduating high school seniors who are citizens of the U.S. Applicants will be judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need. Applications must be submitted to the Elks Lodge closest to the student’s permanent address.

American Legion Oratorical Contest

Amount: $1,500-$18,000

Description: High school students under the age of 20 are eligible. Competition begins at the post level and advances to a state competition. Speaking subjects must be on some aspect of the U.S. Constitution, with some emphasis on the duties and obligations of citizens to our government.

Horatio Alger Technical Scholarship

Description: Receive up at $2,500 to pursue a career or technical program at an accredited non-profit post-secondary institution in the United States.
