Diploma Designations

Guidance Counselors will be available on Thursday, August 6 between the hours of 8a.m. and 2 p.m. to affix seals on the diplomas of students who earned a designation. The list of students meeting the criteria will be available after July 31,2009.  Please call 774-7269 after July 31 if you have questions.

The 2008 Florida Legislature passed Senate Bill 1908 which created a new statute 1003.4285, “Standard Diploma Designations”.

 

Diploma Designation  

 Year to Recognize at Graduation

Major Area of Interest(Completion of 4 MAI coursesin the same MAI) Graduating class of 2011 and beyond
Accelerated College Credit Courses(Four AP, IB, Dual Enrollment [DE]-anycombo;must be eligible for college credit;DE=C or better; AP test scores=college credit; IB=test scores) Graduating class of of 2009 and beyond
Career Education Certification(Career Academies)RRHS will not have this designation for the class of 2009 Graduating class of 2009 and beyond
Ready to Work Credential(Gold, Silver, Bronze)*  Graduating class of 2009 and beyond

*Students who receive a score of 5 on all three Ready to Work (RTW) tests will earn a Gold Credential, students who receive a 4 on all three RTW tests will earn a Silver Credential, and students who receive a score of 3 on all three RTW tests will earn a Bronze Credential.

 

All standard diploma, special diploma, and certificate of completion students who meet the recognition requirements will be eligible to receive the diploma designations.

 

Diploma designations will NOT be recognized during graduation ceremonies because schools will not have final confirmation of all eligible students at that time.
