Description: Applicants must be a 9th-12th grade permanent US resident enrolled in a public, private, or parochial high school or home school study program. Applicants must submit a written and recorded essay (3-5 minutes) on the topic “My Responsibility to America.”

Youth Volunteer Scholarship Award

Elks Most Valuable Student Scholarship
Amount: $4,000 – $50,000
Description: Qualified applicants must be graduating high school seniors who are citizens of the U.S. Applicants will be judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need. Applications must be submitted to the Elks Lodge closest to the student’s permanent address.

American Legion Oratorical Contest
Description: High school students under the age of 20 are eligible. Competition begins at the post level and advances to a state competition. Speaking subjects must be on some aspect of the U.S. Constitution, with some emphasis on the duties and obligations of citizens to our government.
Application: If you are interested in participating in this contest you will have to get in touch with your local American Legion Post and tell them that you would like to sign-up for their Post Level Contest. See Mrs. Peterson in the CRC for the certification form.
Horatio Alger Technical Scholarship
Description: Receive up at $2,500 to pursue a career or technical program at an accredited non-profit post-secondary institution in the United States.

WACE National Scholarship Program
Description: Eligible students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher and must be applying to one of the WACE Partner Institutions (Clarkson, Drexel, Johnson and Wales, Merrimack, RIT, SUNY at Oswego, University of Toledo, University of Cincinnati, University of Massachusetts Lowell, Wentworth Institute of Technology).
