There is a new requirement for all new PHSC students (including Dual Enrollment students) wishing to take online classes. Prior to registration for an online class, all new students have to complete an Online Readiness Course. This course is automatically loaded to your myPHSC account (Canvas) and is completed online. Until the course has been successfully completed, there will be a hold on your account preventing registration in online classes with PHSC. Even if you are not planning to take an online course this coming semester, I encourage you to complete the Online Readiness Course now so that it does not block registration in online classes in the future.
To access your myPHSC account, first log in to your WISE account. Both WISE and myPHSC are accessed from the top right of www.phsc.edu.
You will log in to WISE using your Social Security number and a 4-digit PIN that consists of the day of your birth and the last two digits of the year of your birth. For example, if your birthday were January 21, 1999, you would have the following WISE PIN: 2199
Once logged in to WISE you will navigate to the homepage. The WISE homepage lists your myPHSC login ID and default password. While navigating to the homepage in WISE there are security questions to complete and pop-ups regarding tax forms and automated messages. These pop-ups appear for all PHSC students.
Use the login ID and default password to log in to your myPHSC account. On the homepage in myPHSC there is a block link to the Online Readiness Course. A score of 80% or better on a final comprehension quiz is required to pass the course. You can take the quiz more than once if needed.
This requirement only applies to students taking their first Dual Enrollment classes in the fall semester. If you have previously completed DE classes, including ones held on the high school campus, you would not have to complete the Online Readiness Course.
